In Alive From Whispering Pines season 35, Lord Huron are recording in Tubbs Tarbell's Whispering Pines Studios as themselves. In the music video for ' The World Ender,' Lord Huron are on screen on the television in the Frozen Pines Motel, possibly as the Buck Vernon Band or the Phantom Riders. Lord Huron appear in the ' Fool for Love' music video, credited as the Buck Vernon Band. 1 Description and appearances in universe. Their albums have broad and sometimes intertwined story arcs, which are 'intended to be fragmentary, non-chronological and in some ways confounding.' Lonesome Dreams and Strange Trails 'exist within the same world, but they are separated by time, location and different characters.' On Strange Trails, Vide Noir, and Long Lost there are some characters who are present for more than one album. Beyond music, there’s art to look at, there’s videos to watch, there’s other ways to engage and live inside universe if you can.' But there are all these other elements that you can kind of dig deeper and get into if you’re so inclined. Schneider has said in an interview: 'if you want to enjoy the music, that’s cool. Schneider has a visual arts background and the body of media Lord Huron produces ranges from music and visual art, to video and film, comic book concepts and fictional novels, as well as alternate reality game elements. It was originally a solo project by Schneider, who created two EPs in 2010 before forming the band. Touch device users, explore by touch or with swipe gestures. Lord Huron - The Ghost on the Shore + my video. I was born on the lake and I don't want to leave. Lie where I land let my bones turn to sand. Will remember the tale of the ghost on the shore. The love child of classic-era Moody Blues and Chris Isaak, Lord Huron is-without hyperbole-one of the best bands of the era, as evidenced by the cosmic pastoralism of Lonesome Dreams, the Gothic Folk of Strange Trails, and off-kilter, fun-house rise of Vide Noir.Lord Huron is an American band who frequently cover the songs of characters in their fictional universe, such as Frankie Lou, Leigh Green, Buck Vernon, and The Phantom Riders. I'm the Lord of the lake and I don't want to leave All who sail off the coast ever more. Yet, despite the success they've earned, lead singer and songwriter Ben Schneider has never been content to stay in one place-the mark of the true artist-and has seen to it that Lord Huron continues stretching and experimenting (as they have since the band's early EPs), while keeping true to their ethereal aesthetic. While the darker Vide Noir-with its weirder, even heavy-rock groove was a step too far for some fans, Long Lost goes in the opposite direction-a mixture of offbeat and old-timey ballads from a post-Appalachian, but yet pre-Country era songs like 'Mine Forever,' 'Meet Me in the City,' and 'I Lied' are distinctly old-fashioned and charmingly timeless, with 'Not Dead Yet' tapping into rockabilly (which Lord Huron flirted with on Strange Trails).īut there's much more here than meets the eye. I should admit up front that I wasn't a fan of the three songs they released prior to the album's release. I was expecting them to zig where they zagged, and go more into the trippy, Prog realm of multi-part songs rather than lean into their Ghost Town side. But it's unfair to judge something based on your expectations rather than what it's intended to be.Īnd I was also surprised that the songs didn't instantaneously grab me in the way that the Fleet Foxes' new album Shore did. It's also unfair to expect a song to immediately hit you. Some of my all-time favorite songs took time to grow on me. So, once I understand what the band was doing, I let go of my preconceptions and expectations and simply opened myself to what Long Lost is. Lord Huron's fourth album is a haunting time-capsule of striking, moody ballads and catchy, cleverly arranged mid-tempo gems that, together, feel like lost songs written ages ago that have only now been uncovered. 2012 Debut Full-Length On Vinyl LP Featuring Time To Run, The Ghost On The Shore, She Lit A Fire & More Lord Hurons debut full-length album.
